1) How did purple i come into existence?
Chez and I played in another band previous to Purple i and when that didn't work out we went our seperate ways.  That was until a few years later when our paths crossed again.  Chez was working on some new material and asked that I'd add some bass contributions.  From then on I think we both realized that we had a passion for music that wasn't just a passing fad.  We were constantly creating music and with each new song/demo we pushed ourselves to new limits.  That frame of mind continues today.

2) What, and who, has influenced you and Chez in making Vision Escape?
It was our internal drive and passion that pushed us to make Vision Escape.  It was/is the lack of influence in mainstream music that really pushes us to make our own music.


3) What's the Canadian downtempo/electronica/trip-hop scene like and where do you see purple i's place in it?
It's really hard for us to be categorized in any one genre.  The thing is if we say Purple i is this or that then I feel we're being limited by that category.  We have alot of elements in our music coming from different scenes but not one category truly classifies us.  Because of these varying elements we are able to reach a broader audience.
